Wet Goddess Review & *Giveaway*

Wet Goddess by Malcom Brenner

About The Book:
Set at the height of Vietnam protests, Jimi Hendrix, and LSD, Wet Goddess is a story of strange encounters, awkward misadventures, and ultimately love. Stoked on cheap pot and reports that dolphins possess near-human intelligence, liberal arts major Zachary Zimmerman couldn't be more thrilled about his first pro photography job. The project: shoot a book about the stars of Florida Funland's struggling dolphin show - while turning a blind eye to the writer's affair with a trainer. But the writer isn't the only one at Florida Funland looking for forbidden love. Ruby, a solo performer in the show, slowly edges her way inside Zach's slightly foggy mind, drawing him deeper and deeper into her wet, wild realm of sensual abandon and unexpected violence. Previously excerpted in "Penthouse" and the classic Project Jonah anthology "Mind In The Waters", this is the only authorized print edition of the long-awaited adult novel.

My Thoughts:
I have to believe this is totally fiction - even though the author states it is a true story.  But to get my mind wrapped around it, it has to be fiction in my mind. This book might be a bit disturbing to some, as it does talk about bestiality. But, as fiction, it is an interesting story. Definitely an adult read. And to be read by an adult with a hugely open mind.

About The Author:
After brief stints working public affairs for a state hospital and reporting for a weekly in Grants, N.M., Brenner returned to Florida in April, 2002 with two mongrel dogs. He was employed by the local daily newspaper just long enough to acquire an old trailer on a rural parcel of land outside Punta Gorda, Florida. He now lives there with his housemate Cay, their two dogs and a family of anole lizards. Somehow the trailer survived 2004's Hurricane Charley intact! Both Brenner's writing and photos are frequently featured in local magazines, and he is seeking other outlets for his photography and writing. If Wet Goddess proves popular, Brenner has a second volume of dolphin stories to tell. "It's the stuff I wrote for Wet Goddess that ended up on the cutting room floor because it drifted too far from the main theme, but I had to get it off my chest," he explained. Of his work, Brenner said, "I'd rather write fiction, but I have absolutely no facility for plot. Nothing I can imagine is as weird or as unlikely as the things that have actually happened to me. So I just write honestly about my life, which simply reads like fiction." Visit the website.

This sounds interesting and I am fascinated by the Vietnam era, as I was just a kid then and feel like I missed a lot of what was really happening.
